Betty Lou Bennett Marks 1937-2011

KNOXVILLE — Betty Lou Bennett Marks, age 73, went home to be with the Lord January 9, 2011, at home.

She was a member of Third Creek Baptist Church. Graduate of Science Hill School in Johnson City, and attended ETSU for two years prior to marriage. She was a majorette in school and worked for Raytheon as a secretary, typing plans for nuclear missiles. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and was loved by all who knew her.

Preceded in death by husband, Delbert L. Marks; parents, Walter Bennett, and Elizabeth Swartz Bennett; grandparents, Jase and Betty Bennett, William and Bertha Swartz.

Survived by sister, Shirley Beal; son, Brian Keith Marks; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Joyce Marks; daughter, Kimberly Elizabeth Marks Turner; grandchildren, Joshua Keith Marks, Joseph Logan Marks, Jessica Ann Marks, Dalton Cole Turner; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday at Weaver Funeral Home with service to follow at 1:30 p.m.

Family and friends will proceed to Highland Memorial Cemetery following service for interment.

Donation may be made to the Young-Williams Animal Shelter.
